I love cooking on a gas ckootop, but not with a thick sweater on.  One night I was cooking and noticed a burning smell.  I looked down and my flared sleeve sweater had brushed the flame of the gas burner.  My sleeve was on fire and the flame travelled up my arm.  Luckily  before it reached my hair I doused it with water. The sweater was done with, but at least I was fine!A few weeks later, I was boiling water.  I opened a cabinet above the stove and a can fell down into the boiling water and splashed it up into my eye.  I ended up in urgent care. The outside layer of my eye was burned but healed quickly.Now with experience I am a pro in the kitchen.
